The cast of the new season of the series HBO’s True Detective continues to expand this month.

Since the formalization of the new season of True Detective last summer, the good news are that accumulate, and the showrunner Nic Pizzolatto seems to be well on your way to make people forget the disappointment of public and crtique (except for us) that was season 2. It teaches that in the casting already very strong, composed of the fantastic Mahershala Ali, Stephen Dorff and Carmen Ejogo, has now been added Scoot McNairy, an actor very talented, accustomed to supporting roles and a variety of… and to works of quality.

His last appearance is very recent, as we have seen in shériff pusillanimous in the excellent Godless. He also had a key role in the underrated Halt and Catch Fire. Side film it is not at rest, since it has held up brilliantly the main role of the wonderful film Monsters Gareth Edwards (Rogue One) and has appeared in number of films great, such as The Rover or 12 Years A Slave. Its onset the more to the general public, still in Batman v Superman, a film in which he plays here also a role of secondary, but a key role all the same : the cripple who blew up during the hearing of Superman.

A priori, it should again be a broken man in the new season of True Detective, since his role is described as that of “a father who suffers a terrible loss that will bind his fate to that of two officers from the state police for more than 10 years”. The 3rd season of True Detective starts under the best auspices, and when we know that, the icing on the cake, this is Jeremy Saulnier, who realizes, we can only have water to the mouth. However, it will have to be patient, since HBO should not be able to broadcast it before 2019.
