Comic-Con : Andrew Lincoln confirms that he leaves Walking Dead and season 9 unveils its trailer

Aaaah, The Walking Dead. It is always a pleasure to speak to this “series” as with it, one is sure to always be surprised. Even in our articles because they are the only ones where you never know in advance how they will end.

This is the great strength of The Walking Dead, ahead of our expectations to give us something else, not avoiding never a joyous disappointment. It should also be said that over the years, we have seen the series decline under us eyes, and we are always amazed that it is still standing despite its episodes screwed up, its hearings anemic and its departures in a mess.

A return to the sources ?

Because, yes, season 9 will mark an important turning point in the series. Already, a change of showrunner since it is Angela Kang who takes control with the difficult task of having to renew it from the inside, a series dramatically moribund. Then, change the cast as Lauren Cohan, aka Maggie Green, will be leaving the series at the end of the season and Andrew Lincoln should do the same. Which is still annoying considering he is the hero of the story.

But Andrew Lincoln has confirmed his decision during his panel at Comic-Con a few hours ago, while casting a big doubt :

“This will be my last season as Rick Grimes. I love this series, it means everything to me and I love people who do. And especially those who watch it. I don’t want this to become a speech of Oscar, or a eulogy for my relationship with Mr. Rick Grimes is far from over.”

That is a statement that concludes a more than mysterious. Does this mean that one will find Rick Grimes ? In a spin-off ? In the absence of evidence, one can only guess. However, the panel also provided us with a looooooongue trailer of this famous season 9, which should “change everything”, back in mobile mode, when the group of survivors decides to join Washington. And, actually, seeing the images, one has the impression that the emphasis has been put on the notion of procedure survival, the interest of live in a group and the behavior to have when civilization has been destroyed. In short, questions that could boost the interest around the series. And we even see the zombies !
