Star Wars The Last Jedi: Yoda and Obi-Wan in the Trailer

You may not have noticed it, but the trailer of Star Wars: The Last Jedi enjoys the discreet presence of two emblematic characters: Yoda and Obi-Wan!
And it’s gone for weeks of speculation! When a movie like Star Wars: The Last Jedi is finally entitled to its first trailer , necessarily, it soon becomes a bit crazy. One tries to dissect the video, one tries to understand what a certain image, such a word may mean. And above all, we are on the lookout for the smallest hidden detail that could escape us and which would nevertheless have its importance. As a result, we have already scratched a little the surface of the trailer of this Episode VIII, noting the most important points, the most striking images. Among them, there is of course the image of Leia de dos, standing in front of a projection of the galaxy, that of the broken mask – which may or may not be the mask of Kylo Ren – and finally that of the mysterious book, The three succeeding one behind the other. As such, these three passages are important. But what they show intrigues us or fascinates us so much that we almost forget to listen . Because yes, we hear voices behind these images and they do not belong to anyone since they are very similar to those of Leia … and Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi !

When Leia appears, the princess can be heard saying, ” Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi .” A little phrase that takes us back decades, when Leia was trying to get help from the reclusive Jedi on Tatooine. That makes us even more sad to learn that Carrie Fisher will not a priori not in Star Wars 9 . Then, it is the voice of the latter that is distinguished at the moment when one sees the broken mask. Obi-Wan, played at the time by Alec Guinness, murmurs in effect: ” He was seduced by the power of the dark side .” A reference therefore to Dark Vador, his former Padawan, Which swung into the darkness . And finally, as the strange cave in which the mysterious book appears, Yoda manifests itself, declaring: ” She surrounds us and connects us .” A phrase he used years ago to talk about the Force to Luke . Three small references so that are probably not innocuous! The voices of Yoda and Obi-Wan were already heard in Star Wars: The Revival of the Force and, looking at the trailer of Episode VIII, it is said that it could do the same. The rumor circulating that Frank Oz could have resumed the role of Yoda in Star Wars: The Last Jedi , it is hoped that the two characters will manifest themselves in one way or another in the film!
