Incredible but true, it would seem that The Walking Dead becomes a series just about watchable with its season 9. And one hesitates to see a link of cause-and-effect with the departure of its main character.

Voilà, it’s done. After nine years of good and loyal services, Andrew Lincoln, aka Rick Grimes, left , The Walking Dead, at the end of the episode that night. But it is not necessary to believe that he is finished with the zombies so far. Gosh the the not. We are even very far since the chain, AMC does not intend to deprive himself of his iconic heroes as easily.

If we already knew that Lincoln would never be very far away from the show and that he would carry out some future episodes, the Hollywood Reporter has just outright told us this weekend that it would be in reality also back in front of the camera, and returned to his character, on the occasion of three ambitious television films prepared by the network, all of which have budgets consistent with the first expected to be launched in 2019. These three “films” will be overseen by Scott M. Gimple, former showrunner of the series, and it took a stripe from, and which is currently in the process of writing the first instalment of the trilogy as it comes from the reveal :

“There’s a lot more story to tell, and this is what we’re going to do. The story of Rick will continue in the film. We are working on three feature films, but we are flexible… In the next few years, we’re going to do special episodes, new series are not to deviate not more, just as digital content and high-quality content that challenges current descriptions. We’re digging the past and revisit old characters. But we’ll also introduce new ones and new adventures.”

Andrew Lincoln clings…

In short, not to change The Walking Dead eats all the racks and, like its zombies, refuses to die. If we tairons the exact circumstances of the departure of Rick Grimes for the time being (besides his family), it is important to understand that all has been planned upstream between Andrew Lincoln and Scott Gimple. The actor had already agreed to participate in the film even before the airing of the episode of that night. And besides, it should not be the only one as Gimple the tease :

“I advance on any of these stories at this moment in time. It does give us not only the chance to work again with all these great people, but also the opportunity to answer a lot of questions about their characters.”

Yes, we will never be rid of Walking Dead, just need to get use to it.

Then you bring who you want, but not Carl, ok ?
