The Vampire Diaries Season 8: Episode 3, Bonnie must choose between Enzo and Damon, our criticism
Last night, the US channel The CW aired the episode 3 of season 8 of The Vampire Diaries. Discover then immediately our critique of “You Decided That I Was Worth Saving”.
This week, Sybil is developing a plan of Machiavellian when she realizes that she is still unable to have complete control of Enzo . She now knows that Bonnie is the most important person in her eyes and she will quickly discover that it plays a big role in the life of Damon also. By finding their weak point, it is easy for the siren to find the solution to all his problems. The episode 3 of season 8 of The Vampire Diaries starts while Sybil is once again trying to alter the memories of Damon . He now lives in a world where he apparently never had the opportunity to meet Elena Gilbert who would have died with his parents in a car accident. These scenes still possible to play the card of nostalgia, not to mention that we have the pleasure of meeting briefly Liz Forbes. Damon can no longer be linked to memories of Elena.
Meanwhile, Bonnie and Caroline enthusiastically celebrate the engagement of the latter with Stefan and we’re happy to have a little levity in this episode which will quickly take a darker turn. Again, references to the first episodes of The Vampire Diaries are present, notably through the famous “June wedding” , including Caroline speaks in the driver. Unfortunately, their small celebration will soon be interrupted by Damon who ordered to kill Bonnie … If the two women were not injured, that’s where Sybil will discover the importance of Bonnie and Damon to start change memories with Bonnie also. From there, the siren sets up a game more diabolical. It makes a visit to Bonnie and Caroline to understand why these men are so attached to it. But that’s not all, its ultimate goal is that Bonnie and Damon choose between Enzo. Of course, Bonnie refuses to choose, but here, Sybil thought of everything and the two vampires will fight to the death if Bonnie does not choose …
Enzo and Damon, under the influence of Sybil, have no other choice than to fight one against the other and neither Stefan nor Caroline could not stop them. Against all odds, Bonnie eventually choose Enzo but now, this is not really the taste of Sybil who really wants to keep Damon with her because it is the most loyal of the two. In a big turnaround, Sybil persuaded Enzo to turn off his humanity and ordered to kill Damon Bonnie! Fortunately, Alaric chooses that moment to land a weapon to confuse the waves of Sybil and they can then capture it. However, Damon is still in the grip of the siren and it was on a secret mission he can not speak. While the gang has Sybil safe at the Armory , Damon crosses paths with Tyler who tries in vain to reason with him by appealing to the memory of Elena. As we know, Damon only has those memories in mind and when we think it will leave Tyler live, he turns and attacks him.
Tyler did he come back in the series just to die? What is the mysterious plan of the siren? Can it really manipulate Damon remotely? This episode is definitely the best season yet. It implements many parallel with episode 5 of Season 3 of The Vampire Diaries, “The Reckoning”, in which Klaus wants to force Stefan to kill Elena and ends convinced him to turn off his humanity . We feel that the writers take more risks without necessarily choose the easy and hopefully the season will continue on this path. Furthermore, one wonders how Georgie – who witnessed of things rather abnormal – will digest what she saw and how Alaric justify to her. While waiting to discover later, know that the episode’s synopsis 4 of season 8 of The Vampire Diaries is already on melty. What did you think of this episode?
