The Vampire Diaries, The Originals: Steroline Engagement, Benzo, Death of Cami, Marcel in power … the best and the worst of 2016!
What did we like in The Vampire Diaries and The Originals this year? What, on the contrary, was hated? Back on the highlights of the two vampiric series of the CW!
By the end of 2016, it is time to take stock of the series and episodes we saw this year. In this article, we will focus on series of Julie Plec, ie The Vampire Diaries and The Originals . One has just begun its final season and is currently in winter hiatus, the other patiently awaits its return for March 2017 with its new season. Note that you can also discover a new trailer of the first winter of the season 8 of The Vampire Diaries on melty. So what are the best and worst moments that we selected for the end of season 3 of The Originals and the end of season 7 and the start of the season 8 of The Vampire Diaries ?
The Vampire Diaries: The Best
This was our favorite in season 7 of The Vampire Diaries is the introduction of many new characters who came to bring a little spice to the intrigues, but also freshen up the cast of a series that is too afraid of change. The heretics were colorful and very interesting characters. Moreover, the big plus point of the end of season 7 is the pair formed Benzo Bonnie and Enzo . An unexpected couple who knew how to surprise us and to soften us! As for the beginning of Season 8, we like the fact that the writers play with the history of the series by creating parallels with the first seasons, especially in the episode where Bonnie must choose between Enzo and Damon. We also love all the nostalgic side that this last season brings, that we find in the titles of the episodes, in the dialogues or in the flashbacks with Elena. Obviously, Stefan wedding in demand loved Caroline, and if the pair sterolins knows many disappointments since we hope they will have their June Wedding!
The Vampire Diaries: The Worst
The big problem with the series The Vampire Diaries is the lack of intrigue renewal. It was said above, we loved discovering new characters in season 7, but they did not last long since we all left as quickly as they had arrived – damage . Moreover, the character that most embodies this lack of originality is none other than Damon Salvatore. Stuck in the role of the wicked torturer since Elena is asleep, Damon turns round, sometimes wicked, sometimes repentant and we’ve had enough! If it was already the case in season 7, it is still the intrigue that is served us in season 8.
The Originals: the best
The third season of The Originals was on top and making Mikaelson more vulnerable than ever. We loved the characters of Aurora and Lucien, who brought a wind of freshness, but who knew how to rock the series. Returns Finn and Kol was also a pleasant surprise, because we did get the whole family – with Freya – which had never happened before . We also loved that Marcel regains power at the very end of the season. The vampire was tired of letting himself walk on by the Mikaelson and decided to take his destiny in hand and becoming a supernatural being even more powerful than Klaus. The passage from Stefan Salvatore to New Orleans is also part of our favorite moments! Finally, after episodes to wonder if Elijah and Hayley would finally get together, the two lovebirds seem to have finally taken the plunge. It will be necessary to wait until season 4 to know if they are really together or not.
The Originals: The Worst
Season 3 of The Originals was deadly enough and we had to say goodbye to several main characters. If the death of Davina has saddened us, it was not as shocking and sad than Cami . While she and Klaus had finally admitted their feelings for each other, the bite of Lucien killed the young woman. Moreover, her character had just taken a rather interesting turn since she had become a vampire. Moreover, the series has the bad habit of stretching a little too much its intrigues or adding things that seem too much. For example, we remember the episode 15 of season 3 of The Originals where a Cortez came to attack Klaus, having discovered that his life was no longer tied to hers – it was a deep trouble . Finally, the prize for the most useless character in the series – even the year – back to Jason Dohring in the role of Inspector Will Kinney. If someone can explain his interest in season 3, we are starters! Anyway, we still wait to see the season 4 of The Originals, in which Hayley and Klaus could well be closer. What was for you the worst and the best of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals in 2016?
